Elkanah Sprague Swift, born 1845 in Farmington, Maine, was a printer in Farmington, Wilton, Paris and Lewiston (after 1884), Maine, retiring to a farm near Rumford by 1912.  He died at his son’s home in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York in 1920.     

He was married to Emma Louise Butler, in 1866, in Farmington.  Elkanah Sprague Swift and Emma Louise Butler had the following children:
